Meet the Bird We Chose for URNAM

Some things don't ask to be noticed.

They simply stay with you.

This season, URNAM introduces a new visual signature, the Indian Spotted Owlet.

Small, observant and quietly distinctive, the bird has a presence that feels close to the world we have been building at URNAM.

We were drawn to it not because it is an obvious symbol of India, but because it is not.

The Indian Spotted Owlet belongs naturally to the Indian landscape, yet it doesn't announce its heritage. Its character is found in the details, its watchful eyes, imperfect form and distinctive pattern of spots.

That felt familiar.

At URNAM, our relationship with Indian craft has always been about looking again. Taking something deeply rooted in our surroundings and seeing how it can exist in a contemporary wardrobe, without making it loud, literal or nostalgic.

The owlet became a natural extension of that thought.

Its spotted plumage gives us another language to explore through embroidery: dots, stitches, irregular clusters and small marks that reveal themselves slowly.

From a distance, the mark remains quiet.

Closer, it becomes a pattern.

Closer still, a story.

The bird will now appear across URNAM as a subtle signature, through embroidery, labels, packaging and other details of the world around our clothes.

Not as a symbol to explain everything we are.

But as a small reminder of how we see.

Quiet. Curious. Observant. Distinctly of here.

For those who notice.
